“A dark masterpiece exploring android slavery and the decay of the human condition. Its visceral imagery of a futuristic and dystopian Los Angeles sticks with you for life.”  Brian McKay - eFilm Comment.com

Blade Runner fully and richly deserves its reputation. It is simply one of the most extraordinary films ever made.”  Nick Cramp - BBC

There are several different versions of this groundbreaking film and as I write this I am not sure which one we shall be screening - presumably the latest one, but you never know.  Whichever it is though you will be swept away by Ridley Scott’s vision of a dystopian future in which the best and brightest have either left earth or are not actually human at all.  This is truly a film for the big screen and the forerunner of all the sci-fi epics that followed it, but it is much much more than a special effects blockbuster.  The central character Dekker, is tasked with eliminating five replicants, who have rebelled and returned to earth and in the process of doing this he is forced to question his own and his masters’ humanity.  Indeed what is it that makes us human, or is being human a good thing anyway.  There is lots to ponder here, and the creation of a frighteningly real future will restore your faith in the art of the cinema.
