Yes there will be blood - it is a vampire movie after all, but this, by all accounts, an extraordinary film, featured in many top ten lists for the year with words such as poetic, beautiful, romantic and engaging, as well as terrifying, of course. So give it a chance.
It tells the story of a lonely young boy, bullied and victimised at school who encounters, a young - or as it turns out - not so young, girl who takes him in hand and transforms his world.
The vampire legend is given an entirely new twist for this tale of adolescent longing and just might steal your heart away.
But do take note that it is rated MA and there is blood.
