“Fierce without being cruel, sweet without becoming saccharine, and never short of hilarious, it's not only the best comedy of the year, but one of the best films, period.” Christopher Orr - New Republic
“coming-of-age meets coming-to-term, in a film that is refreshingly frank about sex and love, pokes fun at the clashes between age and class, and, even more subversively...celebrates the pregnant possibilities of the non-nuclear family.” Anton Bitel - MusicOMH.com
A teenager becomes pregnant - so far, not so very different - but this teenager decides on a radically different solution to the problem. This film was a surprise hit last year - what started out as a small off-beat indie film became mainstream, but it was a hit for a reason. It has something to say, it features outstanding performances and an award winning script, is frequently funny but can also bring a tear to your eye.
Enjoy the difference of unusual solutions to all too ordinary problems plus the difference that a good script and excellent performances make to a modest film budget.
