Robert Connolly

Documentary is governed by a more factual representation but fiction allows you to hypothesise a human dimension to characters who are dealing with moments of great significance”

to make something work, you have to walk that fine line between utter failure and success. If you just make something average, well, it’s easy to do that..

Although born in Sydney, since 2006 Robert Connolly has been based in Melbourne where he manages his production company Arena Films with John Maynard.  I have been unable to find any personal information ob his background - how he came to be where he is now.  Suffice to say that his films have all been indictments of injustice and corruption of some kind.  As well as his three films as director, Connolly also produced Romulus My Father.  In 2001 he was awarded the Australian Centenary Medal.
