The September Issue

“At its heart, it's really a movie about work, about the ways individuals compete with, grate against and inspire one another in the workplace.”

Stephanie Zacharek - Salon.com

“a more perfect representation of the eternal struggle, and even more eternal dependence, of art and commerce, there could not be.” Andrea Chase - Killer Movie Reviews

The 2007 September Issue of American Vogue was a massive tome, and this documentary shows how it was put together under the guidance of its legendary editor Anna Wintour and her Creative Director, Grace Coddington.  Indeed a large part of the film is taken up by the relationship between these two very different women.  For the ordinary person this is an unreal world, but one that fascinates us all, and has been responsible for transforming women’s attitudes to fashion, their bodies and indeed their whole personae.  A fascinating look behind the scenes of the ultimate dictator of fashion.  A woman with the power to transform lives, and businesses alike.
