Vincent Paronnaud aka Winshluss
Vincent Paronnaud aka Winshluss
“that is the role of the underground, to have this fertilizing effect. That’s why it’s so important for young artists to be able to have the means to go about their work and also be given the opportunity to bring their work to the public. The larger commercial sphere doesn’t necessarily pervert the little guy.”
Known as Winshluss, Paronnaud is primarily a comic book artist. He is said by one reviewer to “have a macabre sense of humour and no morals.” As an illustrator he has contributed to various revues and anthologies and has also published comic books. The most notable titles appear to be Welcome to the Death Club and Small Monkey. His latest graphic work is a comic novel version of Pinocchio.
He and Marjane Satrapi are to collaborate again on a second film based on another of Satrapi’s comic novels.
